“My Health Follows Me” – L. Moore Community Pillars of BC Project (F-words) -created by Lynda Moore, F-words Family Knowledge Broker, Family Partner in Research, Implementation Lead
The Community Pillars of BC Project (F-words for Child Development – Phase 1) is working to implement *F-words for Child Development into three areas of community: adaptive/inclusive recreation, peer/family support and school IEP/transition with a goal to strengthen not only each pillar of support but to bridge the gaps in family support. The project aims to co-create, with Pillar teams, common language and knowledge translation tools designed for the non-health specific organizations to utilize the F-words within each unique system and collaborate as a bridge in the community. Turning silos into pillars. Honouring common language and family/child goals used in F-words implemented health organizations, the project aims to demonstrate a holistic relationship that supports families and individuals in ‘living well’ as a strength-based community. Building support by fostering inclusion, honouring diversity and respecting the authentic individual under the guidance of the **World Health Organization ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) as presented with the Favourite or F-words for Child Development in non-health community pillars.
(Phase 1, group A) Currently co-implementing F-words frameworks into three groups as pillars (represented by CPABC, SD62 and OneAbility) for organization ask and sustainability under guidance of the CAN-Implement grant (CanChild led and funded in part by KBHN). (Phase 2, group A) Moving forward on the collaboration spectrum to co-create new learning materials, tools and other resources/supports applicable for community spread and scale as well as moving into networking partnership with health centres of previous or current F-words implementation strategy on behalf of families/individuals accessing support and real world applicable functioning goals.
